Ciana Rosenblad is a Grammy nominated violinist born and raised in Austin, Texas and currently based in Dallas, Texas. For the past decade she has been playing classical violin, baroque violin, Irish and country fiddle, world music, indie singer/songwriter, film scores, and contemporary christian music in the Austin and the DFW areas. When she is not practicing or performing, she is teaching violin students from the ages of four to adults. Her mission is to perform and teach music in such a way as to impact the world for the better by making music more accessible and helping to develop an appreciation for this creative outlet. As a result, she hopes that this shared positive impact will bring a meaningful understanding between people and help to form communities between those involved.
Within her second year of playing violin she won the best-in-class solo taping in the Austin region while studying under Molly Emerman. Ciana graduated from McCallum Fine Arts High School, the top ranking National Signature School from the Grammy Foundation, in 2017. During her time in Austin, she performed with her quartet for the Grammy Planning Committee, on the Perelman Stage at Carnegie hall in 2014 with the National Youth Choir and 2016 with the McCallum Orchestra, as a part of various benefit concerts with Austin indie singer/songwriter band Mother Falcon, and as part of a silent film orchestra with Austin world music band ATASH.
Ciana has been teaching privately since 2016. She coached students in songwriting with the Mother Falcon Music Lab 2017. Ciana teaches weekly sectionals for the Lovejoy High School Orchestras, all who have won sweepstakes at UIL 2024. Her students are members of the Denton Youth Orchestra, the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, and have received state award recognition in Solo and Ensemble 2024.
In 2021 Ciana received her bachelor’s degree in violin performance at the University of North Texas studying under Dr. Ania Bard-Schwarz and baroque violin under Professor Cynthia Roberts. During her time at UNT she also studied with Professor Julia Bushkova, Professor Philip Lewis, Dr. Daphne Gerling, and Professor Scott Tixier.
Since 2021, Ciana has performed alongside American Idol artist Austin Michael, Grammy award-winning artist Kurt Elling, the Dallas Lyric Stage Orchestra, Texarkana Symphony, McKinney Philharmonic, Tulsa Symphony, Tulsa Ballet, Roy Cotton’s Urban Symphony, Luminous Sound recording studio, Amit Peled, Grammy Award winning Anthony Evans Jr., Grammy Award winning Richard DeRosa, Grammy Award winning The Temptations, and other orchestras and artists in the Texas and Oklahoma regions.
In her free time Ciana likes to hike, garden, read, and spend time with her friends, family, and cat, Tiger.
